John Bamford Primary

Year 6

My name is Ms. Wall and I am a Year 6 teacher at The John Bamford Primary School, I have worked across both Key Stages during my 21 years at the school. I am a member of the Senior Leadership Team with the responsibility of leading Health and Safety, Data Protection and Assessment. I love Art and Design, reading and most importantly, spending time in nature!

My name is Miss Phillips and I have worked at The John Bamford Primary for 18 years across all key stages from Nursery to Year 6.  When I am not teaching, I love to read, paint and spend time with my family.

My name is Mrs. Chattoe and I started work at The John Bamford School in November 2021. I have spent the majority of the last 20+ years teaching Year 6 which I thoroughly enjoy. It is such a privilege to be able to watch the children learn new skills and gain confidence in their own ability.

In my spare time, I love going for walks with my three children, miniature dachshund, crazy collie, and very patient husband. We also have a caravan which we enjoy towing to the sandy Welsh beaches whenever possible.

Teaching and learning in Year 6 is through a range of exciting and stimulating adventures. We encourage the children to become fully immersed in their learning and foster their growing independence and responsibility through mature programmes of study.

As part of the Year 6 adventures, children will be exploring a range of subjects, which focus on local, national and global aspects to support our vision and values.

In Year 6, children continue their learning of multiplication facts as part of their daily Maths lessons; they will be given the opportunity to practice their recall of multiplication facts up to 12 x 12 and beyond – squared, cubed and prime numbers.

All children in Year 6 will continue swimming lessons during the autumn term. All children will have the opportunity to continue to learn to play the guitar.
