Years 5 & 6 B
Mr Foster | Years 5&6 Teacher

My name is Mr Foster; I am a Year 5&6 teacher at The John Bamford Primary School. This will be my first year in upper KS2; however, I have worked across the school, in various roles, for the past 10 years.
I have a love for Physical Education and sports in general and this is shown as I lead sport across the school to provide an enriched and diverse array of sporting opportunities. Teaching and learning in Years 5&6 is through a range of exciting and stimulating adventures. We encourage the children to become fully immersed in their learning and be proud in a sense of developing independence and responsibility. We will be looking at a range of adventures which focus on local, national and global aspects to support our Vision and Values.

In Years 5 and 6, children continue their learning of multiplication facts as part of their daily Maths lessons; they will be given the opportunity to practice their recall of multiplication facts up to 12 x 12 and beyond - squared, cubed and prime numbers.
All children in Year 6 will have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar. Those children who cannot yet swim 25m, will be able to access weekly swimming lessons during the autumn term.
